Last week was FUN! I had the fabulous opportunity to speak at the American Family National Headquarters for a lunch event--”The Power of Decluttering”. Here we all are--cozying up to the idea that RELEASING clutter can have AMAZING benefits to our Health, Time, Productivity, Money and Relationships! Welcome to all of our new e-community members--we are so happy you’re here! Your life can change in So Many Ways by letting the chaos go and making a plan to keep it gone! To recap, because, even if you’ve been with me for 5 years...(OMG-- I cannot believe I have been writing a weekly post for that long--I’ll spare you the math, but it’s #manymanymany blog posts :) ...You may need this reminder to light the fire inside to Get Organized! The Cost of NOT Taking Action How do your possessions deplete your precious resources?
Health: If you have clutter and chaos in your space--you also may be experiencing one of these ailments:
STRESS is a big one...the latest statistics say that up to 90% of diseases are stress related! When we are stressed, our Cortisol levels rise, (the hormone that reacts to stress and when elevated for long periods of time) affects our ability to rest and digest...we are always in that heightened state...we just get used to it, tolerate it, manage it, like a low-grade fever….

We HAD to get back to Iowa to see baby Nora and family over the weekend--they’re all doing extremely well--we alternated between sleepy baby snuggles and toddler ACTION (mostly TRAINZZZ!), such a fun weekend... Speaking of Trains...as you may have noticed, I have been on the Clear Your Clutter Train lately--and have more to share today! Here’s what we’ve been talking about the last few weeks: Today, I want to highlight: The Connection Between Your Clutter And Your Health First, take just one minute and notice this for yourself by closing your eyes...imagine your home’s biggest clutter hotspot and then immediately notice how you feel. You don’t even have to be right in front of it, just thinking about the chaos can create physical and emotional stress. It’s always there running like an open app in the background. We’ve become masterful at ignoring it--managing the stress like a low-grade fever--always simmering...
If you recall from the Bagua: Thanks for all of the good grandbaby juju! I absolutely LOVE hearing from you, so whenever you’re inspired with a question or comment, please feel free--I answer all of my emails! Here I am, in Grandbaby Heaven, holding Nora--she was only a few days old!
Lately, I’ve seen this topic of “Self-Care” popping up all over the place-- (HAHA--maybe it’s just a sign for me:) In any case, I wanted to share a few thoughts... Is this trendy Self Care topic just another thing to be good at? Is it something we resort to because we’ve allowed ourselves to be pulled in so many directions and are so damn exhausted--or is it an integral part of a joyous, balanced life? I think there’s a difference between Consumer Self Care (buy the soy-based, organically wrapped candles for your next tub soak) and True Self Care--which is most likely NOT SEXY OR PRETTY! True Self Care, may actually include grittier moments such as these: I love the start of the New Year, it feels like FUN to invite in new dreams, hopes and magic! I can feel the excitement in the air--how about you? Before the New Year even started, we welcomed this little bundle… Nora Paige (fresh new granddaughter!), born on Christmas Day!!!! She’s warm, cuddly and soooooo loved by everyone around her. A super-sweet (I already taste-tested the cheeks) addition to the family :) After the DreamBank Event a couple of weeks ago, I talked with a few attendees (Hi, Andrea and friends!)...and was fascinated to learn that their biggest take-away was (drumroll, please…) *CLUTTER CLEARING IS ALSO FENG SHUI*
