Thanks for all of the good grandbaby juju! I absolutely LOVE hearing from you, so whenever you’re inspired with a question or comment, please feel free--I answer all of my emails! Here I am, in Grandbaby Heaven, holding Nora--she was only a few days old! Lately, I’ve seen this topic of “Self-Care” popping up all over the place-- (HAHA--maybe it’s just a sign for me:) In any case, I wanted to share a few thoughts... Is this trendy Self Care topic just another thing to be good at? Is it something we resort to because we’ve allowed ourselves to be pulled in so many directions and are so damn exhausted--or is it an integral part of a joyous, balanced life? I think there’s a difference between Consumer Self Care (buy the soy-based, organically wrapped candles for your next tub soak) and True Self Care--which is most likely NOT SEXY OR PRETTY! True Self Care, may actually include grittier moments such as these:
Letting Go of Clutter as Self Care Facing your clutter as a way of being the hero of your own story, handling the ugliness and the un-beauty of it with grace--as a gorgeous gift to yourself. It’s not as immediately compelling as fancy beauty products, the latest skin care regime, purchasing the meal plan or the gym membership that will magically “fix” everything. (Is Self Care really something that can be bought or sold, anyway?) This clutter clearing we’re talking about is deeper, more soulful than that, it’s facing the moldy boxes or the cobwebby inherited “stuff”, or the jammed up basement and saying, “YES! I’m f*&%ing doing this--FOR MYSELF--Even though it’s hard.” The rewards of letting go of things-no-longer-loved are many--FREEDOM, SPACE, CLARITY...and if you were following along last week: Clutter Clearing IS Feng Shui! For the Feng Shui of it--wherever your junk is residing--it’s affecting that area of your life and also having a huge impact on your health. Start Small! Make a Plan! Get Going! We are here for you--if you want or need support, just reply to this email we would love to chat. Lots of Love, XOXO CLIENT LOVE: “After getting the clutter under control in my basement (It took awhile, but I was so inspired by Jane’s event at the DreamBank) all of the warts on my hands went away and some other very big surprises came my way. I am so grateful for the inspiration--my life is changing before my eyes!” Amanda W. Madison, WI
