Feng Shui Before and After: Kitchen/Dining Rooms

Happy New Year! 

I know I’m a tiny bit behind with my New Year’s wishes 🎉🎉🎉 --we’ve been upgrading our tech (camera, microphones) for the last few weeks and the transition is taking a little more effort than expected--I really want to get you the last two videos of our Gas Station Renovation home... 

...they’re COMING!!!!! (keep your eyes peeled…)

Today, though, I’m sharing a FUN, Mind-Blowing Kitchen/Dining Room Transformation:

Our clients, Alex and Brittany, called for a Feng Shui Design enhancement for their ENTIRE home. 

Let’s start with their Kitchen/Dining Rooms, the heart of any home…

BEFORE:

Challenges:

• Dated cabinetry
• Dated vinyl flooring
• Uninspiring wall color
• Older Formica countertops
• Door to office “fighting” with the refrigerator door (so much so that there was a post-it note warning everyone that the doors will bang into each other--”Be Careful!”)
• Large BLOCK table (which also “blocked” you coming in to the space)
• Awkward cabinetry configuration
• Underwhelming lighting

AFTER:

Feng Shui Design Upgrades:

• Painted the cabinetry--Dark Green on the bottom and light Grey on top to ground the room
• Added warm wood (LVP) flooring--bu-bye old vinyl...
• Added mirrored mosaic backsplash tiles for sparkle--no more stuck energy under the cabinets and in the corners!
• Replaced the counters with gorgeous engineered stone
• Upgraded the lighting with a crystal chandelier--an engraved invitation for everyone to gather at the table
• Replaced the table with a round shaped one and soft velvety chairs--very inviting :)
• Reconfigured the cabinets--bringing them all the way around - closing off the door to the office (Don't worry--there’s another way in!)
• Increased *usable* counter space - especially by the stove and refrigerator

RESULTS:

All of these changes have encouraged their family to spend more time cooking together and using the kitchen as a gathering place.  This kitchen invites you in and makes you want to stay and enjoy the vibrant energy!
