Hello, Beautiful! Let’s dive right in, today… Do you have clutter? Is it talking to you? If so, are you listening? In Feng Shui, Clutter is closely connected to HEALTH and if you have clutter, usually you can FEEL it. It drags you down and might make you feel sad, sleepy, stressed or anxious. If you have a lot of clutter, remember just start small, set your timer for 10-20 minutes and “go”! The “Take it in Small Bites” approach really works!!!! Here’s what one of our Clutter Clearing Circle participants who used that approach said last month: “For over two years I had a desk I could not sit at because it was so out of control with many piles of papers and boxes on it. Every time I wanted to clean the desk, I was overwhelmed by the piles. I found it difficult to motivate myself and I kept putting it off. I was excited when Jane offered the virtual Clutter Cleaning Circle. She gave us many tips, including how to declutter our space without becoming overwhelmed. With Jane’s technique of working in short time bursts, it was amazing how much I could accomplish! By the conclusion of the follow-up Clutter Cleaning Circle a month later, I had completely cleaned off my desk!” —JM IF you are ready for a FUN and EASY and FREE way to get some support as you move through your stickiest spaces--kitchen, garage, office, basement, mementos, dining room, closets… Join us next week for our “GET-IT-DONE!” CLUTTER CLEARING CIRCLE Friday, April 29th at 12pmCT/1pmET

Hello Beautiful! The SUN came out over the weekend! So I got out my sunglasses, ditched the giant sleeping bag coat and got out for a couple of walks--felt so good and was a great way to recharge my batteries--wish you were here to go for a walk with me! Today I wanted to share one room of a whole house project that I thought you would LOOOOOOOVE to see… This cute couple, Kathy and Aaron… …had one of those houses that needed a ton of TLC. They had sent their son off to college, have been BUSY with careers and a little more than a year ago, noticed that it WAS TIME to give their home some love, too. As you can tell from the picture, these two are fun, active, outdoorsy and totally up for anything! We have worked through their entire space and are just finishing up the kitchen details this week. Today, though, I wanted to show you just the Dining Room transformation--don’t worry, there’s more coming :) BEFORE: This space presents some unique challenges! Even though one end is open to the Living Room, and there’s a 5 foot doorway to the kitchen and a lot of windows to the deck, this room still felt STUCK. That “dead end” energy at the back of the room felt like a “chi trap” (nowhere to go)--the images on the wall were tiny and even though they had just upgraded the lighting, the space felt dark--mostly due to the wall paint which was (too) earthy and low vibing. AND, guess what? This space was rarely used and tended to collect “junk”. AFTER:
The table and light remained the same. The BIGGEST chi hit is the birch tree mural at the back of the room WITH a mirror to bounce the light around. New paint colors 🤩 and most of all now a BALANCE of elements creating a space that feels fun and alive. Kathy just told me that now they eat in the dining room--even if it’s just the two of them--and as you can see the “junk” is non-existent… That’s the magic of Feng Shui--an elementally balanced space, the use of high vibing colors and especially in this room--correcting for the stuck feeling of the blank wall in the back. This creates a space that attracts people to use it, to stay and enjoy AND a space that feels so special that it also doesn’t attract clutter. Do you have a room or area in your home that needs an energetic boost? Feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss your thoughts on a project, I always LOVE to hear what’s going on in your home or office! Lots of Love, 💗💗💗💗💗 Hello Beautiful! After what seemed like 6 YEARS of winter, Bob and I went up to Devil’s Lake State Park for a hike in the sun ☀️ what a gorgeous place--I always forget the amazing beauty of that place! *************** *Home Staging refers to preparing your home to sell so that it appeals to the perfect potential buyers and sells for the highest price… I just finished staging a home for sale and have 2-3 more on my schedule this spring--the one we just completed goes on the market tomorrow, so, I’ll keep you posted! A few pics below--clean, clear and inviting! When Feng Shui is involved in home staging, we are approaching it in a very different way. We are still working for our clients (as we do when we are designing their homes) to support their dreams (and lives) to blossom--but NOW our focus is on selling their home and feeling abundant in the process--Feng Shui supports this beautifully! Feng Shui Principles to Use in Staging a Home for Sale Clear the clutter--Not only will you clear the clutter off of ALL SURFACES like counters, dressers, credenzas and desks (which is a typical staging principle) but clear the clutter out of the unseen spaces as well, closets, dressers, cupboards, bookshelves, garages, attics, basements AND off-site storage lockers. I know what you’re thinking…all of those unseen places don’t matter. But remember, EVERYTHING MATTERS and even if a potential buyer can’t see it, they can FEEL it. And clutter is the #1 block to making your dreams come true! If you dream of selling your home for top dollar, it has to be done :) Start with the places that buyers would look – like closets, vanities and kitchen cupboards and then move to places they wouldn’t necessarily look like dressers, credenzas, and toy boxes. If you have the luxury of time, do this in phases and make it as FUN as possible--keeping your DREAM of the perfect buyer at the perfect price as your motivation!!!! Clean--Not only does everything have to be spotless but it should smell good, too! Depending on your religious/political beliefs--clean like God/The Obamas are coming--every nook and cranny, even those that are unseen. Use a non-chemical cleaner (like Thieves from Young Living--contact Connie if you’re interested in trying some) or something softly citrus-y to make your home smell AHHHHH-MAZING! Do not underestimate the power of this step!!!!! Wash the Windows! This action will reap more rewards than you could ever imagine--just do it! Fix broken things--Is the bathroom towel bar have a jiggle? Do you have a loose tile in the kitchen? A missing strip of wood around the basement door? Is EVERYTHING solid and in good shape? In Feng Shui, broken things = CLUTTER. You can just feel the chi go down when you see or even think of broken things in your home. Believe me, even if potential buyers don’t consciously notice, they will NOTICE and it will bring their energy down too--placing your home in a less favorable light. Sometimes, as homeowners, we focus on the “BIG THINGS” and forget about the little stuff, but it all matters. So, put your Feng Shui goggles on and take a tour of your home noting everything that needs repair. And then FIX IT! Entry/Approach--If you have time for a true Feng Shui consultation to balance the elements and move items around for optimal flow and chi, it will greatly enhance the appeal of your home. If not, pay particular attention to the Entry to your home-- On the inside--remove the clutter (obvi), place a mirror (as big as you can) near the front door--ideally where you can experience it as you first walk in to increase the water element and “flow” at the point where all of the energy comes into your home. This is a HUGE enhancement and can support the flow of everything--Abundance, Health, Money, Relationships and more. On the outside--Clear the path to your door so that the energy can find you EASILY--wash the front door, give it a fresh coat of paint if you can, put beautiful flowers near the door and remove ANYTHING that could feel like a block--trash, dead plants, broken things and kid or dog toys lying around. Make it EASY for the energy (and the prospective buyers) to get to your door and feel welcome as soon as they enter. Let me know if you apply any of these tips to your home--you don’t have to be selling to benefit! And, as always, if you would like to chat about your projects, please reach out, I would LOVE to talk with you! Lots of Love,
XOXO |
