Hello Beautiful! How have you been? I am focusing on Beauty this month and taking the smallest of steps each day towards my goal (at the moment, putting our gorgeous apartment #backtobeige). Yes, the wallpaper had to be removed--but our new living space on top of the Gas Station is going to be fabulous! Recently, a lot of murals have been popping up for my clients--and I wanted to share with you a few reasons why I use murals in my Feng Shui design (I know, you might be picturing “murals” as something kind of tacky or faded from back in the day…) But the current mural selection is OUT OF THIS WORLD! And here are a few Feng Shui Reasons to use one:
Have you heard of Twitter’s “Rate My Room”? There are some office spaces that could really use some tweaking!!!! Here’s Conan’s: I mean, I know we’re just “keeping it real” but... take some time to arrange your space for optimal lighting and potential--for me, the Holiday Inn curtains just don’t do it :) We’ve just finished installing murals in several home office work spaces--here’s one example of a HIgh Chi enhancement: Before: This was the catch-all room. It lacked color, purpose and organization. And, our client was in DESPERATE NEED of a home office--she had virtual work to do and interviews for new job possibilities as well. After: The Mountain Mural enhances confidence and personal power--this is an office where things are happening! The wolf is keeping watch while the mirror across (you can’t see it) doubles the mural so she has access to it too. The orange chair adds a spark of fire and the fun rug balances the colors in the room. She is in a very powerful position here--cannot wait to hear what Big Things happen in her life! PS: The clutter and unnecessary things have been removed/organized. 2. Headboard Wall Adding a Mural to a headboard wall extends out the energy of the headboard. In ancient Feng Shui, people were looking for properties that could support them by having a “mountain” behind them for protection and safety. In our modern world, the headboard serves that purpose and to boost that energy even further, we often add a strong color or a mural behind the headboard for an even higher energetic frequency. In this case, the bedroom is in the basement, so the high vibration of the mural acts as a magnet to pull you down the stairs to this gorgeous space. 3. Bring Chi to a “forgotten” space--attic, loft or basement Before: This big space (man cave, lower level) was perfect for entertaining, watching movies and playing pool and shuffleboard, but it was not being used to its potential. This Lower Level space needed an energy tune-up to cause the family and their friends to come down and use it! After: We changed a lot in this space but the mural is DEFINITELY the highlight. It’s a photo that captured a very special event for our clients and we had a mural created from that photo to celebrate the event and enhance the space. EVERYONE wants to come downstairs now--the lighting is enhanced, the paint colors are upgraded--lots of things changed but this mural is the crown jewel of the Lower Level. You cannot help but want to go downstairs! If you’re hungry for a space upgrade, send me an email--I would love to chat with you about the possibilities. Murals are not for everyone, but they are a fun easy way to tune-up the energy of a space. Lots of Love, XOXO PHOTOS: Mark Schepker, Nancy Noet, Manotee Cornet--Thank You!
