Just taking the first steps into “my” park causes me to take a deeper breath--it’s a super-sized shot of NATURE vitamins! I am soooooo lucky, it’s right in my backyard: Elver Park, Madison And now that I’ve had a walk...I want to tell you a story! If you’ve been following, you know that last January, my dad passed away. My parents had lived in the same condo for 12 years and it was a touch on the old and stuffy side--nothing much ever changed and even though it was “OK-fine”, the stuff was OLD--badly in need of refreshing! My mom wanted to move to a new apartment with ALL NEW FURNITURE!!!! She wanted the full Feng Shui Treatment! At 87, was ready for an uptick in energy and design. (Most of the credit goes to my sister for suggesting it...our family works in mysterious ways--yours, too?) So BRAVE to let everything go at that stage in life! Mom This week I’m highlighting her Living Room and Dining Room--and will continue with the bedroom/bathroom next week. BEFORE--A big empty room at the new apartment with a sliding door at the end. A totally blank canvas! And then her STUFF arrived--(she is totally pared down, but even so, when it’s all in the living room, WOW!) AFTER: The living room is soft, but still vibrant and inviting. A new pair of chairs scaled small to fit her size--and, ahem, Hummingbird Curtains! The smallest landing pad on the planet--a 12” wide space for a beautiful antique “angel” mirror (a fun Etsy find from the Netherlands!), a simple vase and marble floating shelf for keys. Done! The dining area works well just for her OR to have a friend over for lunch or tea.
She is settled in (6 months now), and says it feels like home, only better :) Contact us if your space could use an upgrade, just click REPLY and we will set up a time to chat. Cuz, wouldn’t you love a new living room, too? Lots of Love, XOXO PHOTO CREDIT: Janice Laufenberg
