Bob (lovely husband) and I had an amazing vacation in Spain. It was a beautiful combination of go-go city sightseeing, hiking in the mountains, camping by the sea and having time to wander. Just what we needed--Ahhhhhhhh! Right up until the moment we left we had been working on our new apartment, painting, wallpapering, hanging lights and putting things away. We were so focused on checking things off our list that we hadn’t taken time to really feel into how beautiful our space was becoming--how nourishing and exciting it truly was!
So, when we returned, opening the door for the first time, I was blown away by the power of the home we had created. This week, I’ll start with the entryway to share some of the secrets woven within the design… The WOW (!) Factor~ The best part of opening our front door is the BIG SMILE I get every single time I come home. It’s a huge WHOOOOOSH of beauty and goodness greeting ume at the door. What a magnificent upgrade for us! Sometimes I can’t believe we live here, a good indication that our home is pulling us forward into the next exciting phase of life. Definitely a case of the sum being greater than the individual pieces... Wallpaper~ This impressive Jim Thompson paper depicts the whimsy of a forest scene--an exotic landscape that has an antique look and patina. The print is a replica of an old Thai temple painting of --a magical forest with tropical plants and lively animals scurrying across an enchanted land. The joy, adventure, magic and FUN installed in the design is incredible. There are birds, butterflies, deer, rabbits, tigers, monkeys, and fish--at least that’s what we’ve found so far! They all appear to be on the move and having fun. EXACTLY the dream we have for our future. The blue color symbolizes water, which in Feng Shui terms, helps everything “flow” in (to our home and lives) more easily. Mirror~ The gorgeous mirror (came with us from the previous home) helps with sparkle and flow, almost always a “must” for any entryway. It’s gold, fancy frame nicely balances the exotic scene in the wallpaper. Chandeliers~ These two chandeliers were both Bob’s--they are heirlooms from his family. We’ve used them before but never TOGETHER--definitely more powerful! They also enhance the sparkle and shine in the entry and they create a “couple” symbol immediately upon entering our home. Hall Bench~ The is little bench is a worn-out wooden “find” that gives us a place to sit to put on shoes but also balances all the excitement in the entry with an “I’ve been here a looooooooong time, and have wisdom from the past” message. Sooooo great to have that bit of energy as we enter, too. Very wabi-sabi! Ceiling~ It’s painted a light lavender to further enhance the flow of energy, mainly career energy. The Feng Shui design of this entryway is beautiful, balanced AND provides us with the opportunity to grow to “catch up” with it. Such an exciting tool of transformation! If you are interested in talking with me about your entry or any other area of your home, I would love to chat with you personally. Drop me an email and I’ll contact you shortly! I hope you’re enjoying the sunshine! Lots of Love XOXO
