Happy In-Between Week! I absolutely LOVE this week before New Year’s Day. I am looking forward to the New Year with tons of excitement and anticipation!!! I am also planning some groovy, new (for me) ways to connect and bring the transformation and fun of attending to your environment to you through the magic of the internet! And still, of course work with private clients in real time, in real houses! Stay Tuned, Sign Up, so you don’t miss a thing! And now...my favorite week, the one before the New Year begins with a chance to set some goals and think about the year ahead. Coincidentally (or not:)) a book was recommended to me by 3 different people in the last several weeks. So, I took it as a sign to download it, and dive in! Do your resolutions or goals for the future ever feel hollow, like something’s missing? The Desire Map: A Guide To Creating Goals With Soul, By Danielle LaPorte was exactly what I needed to uplevel my usual “New Year’s Resolutions” routine. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book if you’re interested in a remarkable, heart-centered approach to goal setting. As I read this treasure, I could feel how things would be different for me this year... Danielle’s book has us associating FEELINGS with desired outcomes and then suggests going for those feelings as soon as possible!!! WOW! If you read it, I would love to know your reactions! For me, it was one of those “perfect book at the perfect time” moments!!!! Feel my way through life instead of banging it into place….hmmmmmmm. “We have the procedures of achievement upside down. Typically we come up with our to-do lists, our bucket lists, and our strategic plans—all the stuff we want to have, get, accomplish, and experience outside of ourselves. All of those aspirations are being driven by an innate desire to feel a certain way. So what if, first, we got clear on how we actually wanted to feel within ourselves, and then we designed our to-do lists, set our goals, and wrote out our bucket lists? How do you want to feel when you look at your schedule for the week? When you get dressed in the morning? When you walk through the door of your studio or your office? When you pick up the phone? When you cash the check, accept the award, finish your masterpiece, make the sale, or fall in love? How do you want to feel?” Excerpt From: Danielle LaPorte's The Desire Map If one of your goals this year is to reclaim your space, I would love to help. Is there stuff that can no longer be “stuffed” into closets, drawers or storage lockers?
How does it make you feel? And then, in light of my new inspired knowledge from Danielle LaPorte… How do you want to feel when you walk into the door of your home? Invite your friends over? Relax in the family room? Go to your closet? Go down the basement? Use that as fuel for taking on your space. I know you don’t want to live in a home packed to the gills with unwanted and unneeded stuff. Sometimes it’s hard to even know where to start. If we work together, things shift quickly and over the course of our sessions you emerge with your desired feelings… Satisfied, accomplished, free, unleashed, perhaps? Check out Danielle’s LaPorte’s book. It’s part book, part workbook, a soulful way to ring in the New Year. Looking forward to connecting with you!
