Here’s to a REAL, INSPIRED and HONEST holiday season! How about a twist on gift giving that shows your love and appreciation without being STUFF-Y? Consider these options as you wrap up (oh yeah, pun intended) your shopping... Consumables: Food items, especially those that can be shared or that contain chocolate, are a lovely way to show your appreciation and love for someone. BONUS points if they are hand-made. EXTRA BONUS points if you buy them and put them in a container that looks handmade. (No one has to know...) Other consumable items that make great gifts: Beautiful note cards, magazine subscriptions or books (as long as they are read and then passed along, not stacked, creating more clutter) elegant soaps, golf balls--you know they always get lost, right?, locally roasted coffee beans, cheese, wine, flowers, fruit, or a gorgeous journal. Ahhhhh, there! A gift that gets all used up and leaves a lovely glow in our memories. Experiences: A client of mine is giving his girlfriend dance lessons this year, Shhhhhhh, I don’t think she knows yet! How fun AND it’s something they can do together. Any type of lesson makes an awesome “experience” gift: skiing, belly dancing, cooking, yoga classes or a new instrument. Other choices might include tickets to movies, sporting events, or the theater. Consider giving a gift card for dinner out to a new restaurant, a day on the slopes, a surprise weekend getaway, a nature hike, or a movie night at home complete with a big, soft blanket, popcorn (and chocolate :)) Presence: Spend quality time with someone catching up, maybe having a bit of green tea and dark chocolate. (I am not repeating myself, chocolate is good in every single category!) Or how about taking a walk, looking through a scrapbook together, cooking a special meal, getting crafty, or working on the car together (that one’s for my husband, the mechanic). Just hanging out, spending time doing “regular stuff” with a big dose of LOVE and intention is a gorgeous gift. Infuse your gifts with love, and the essence will be treasured for a long time to come. How is your gift list coming along? Do you have any ideas to add to the above categories? Add them, quick! We would all benefit! Lots of Love!
