Create a campfire

I want to share this beautiful living room we recently completed--

-- which illustrates a very important Feng Shui principle:

Furniture arrangement is a very big deal in Feng Shui--there’s a lot to consider--balance of color/texture, having the sofa hold the position of power and the idea of connecting by placing the furniture in such a way so that people can connect with each other while they are using the space.

When you “create a campfire” you place your furniture so that it creates a circular shape (like sitting around a campfire--and in the picture above) and keep it close and cozy so the conversation is easy and intimate and you feel in relationship with the people in your space.

Do you have any ACTUAL campfire memories of your own? USUALLY, they are heart-warming, sweet, full of stories, singing and soul connections--why not create this feeling in your own home, too? It all starts with the placement of your furniture…

LIVING ROOM Chi Uppers:

• Position your sofa in a commanding position so that you have a powerful view of the door, the entire room and the outside, if possible--
• Place your chairs to “relate” to the sofa--in such a way to create the “campfire effect”
• Add beautiful pieces--rugs, art, lighting, pillows, decor--to enhance the chi of the living room
• Use an uplifting paint color to very quickly give a big boost to the living room
• Clear out and delete clutter in storage pieces--bookshelves, credenzas, side tables and surfaces
• Energy flows in a circular pattern so remove any blocks to allow this to happen!

Homework:
Now it’s your turn! Put your Feng Shui goggles on and no matter what the size of your space--play around with the arrangement of your living room--can YOU create a campfire effect and create that feeling in your space, too?
