The House That Healed Me: Feng Shui as Self-Care

Well, I guess it’s time to tell you my Feng Shui story…

It started when a good friend invited a Feng Shui Master to her home—and the stories she told afterward were WILD. The things that shifted in her life after following those surprisingly specific suggestions? I had goosebumps. Naturally, I had to try it too.

At the time, I was a single mom raising three little girls. I’d always loved design and had made our home feel as good as I could with the time, energy, and resources I had. The whole house was painted Latte—a cozy Benjamin Moore neutral that felt safe, easy, and inoffensive. (Sound familiar?)

And honestly? Life was fine.
The bills got paid.
The lunches got packed.
The cats and kids were all fed and warm.

But something in me was craving more.
More connection. More creativity. More freedom.

I was teaching full-time—a deeply fulfilling career that I loved and still hold with so much respect (some of you reading this were the parents of my students, and I remember you and your kids fondly!). But back then, there was a quiet voice whispering that there might be something else waiting for me.

So I invited that amazing Feng Shui Master to come walk through our house with me. And that’s when things began to shift.

We moved furniture.
We painted everything—walls, trim, inside and out.
We re-hung and purchased new art.
We did a full energy cleanse of the space.

And we discovered (plot twist!) that my knives and toaster were smack dab in the relationship area of my home.
Oh. 🤪 THAT’S why nothing was clicking…

Fast forward:
My daughters are grown and creating beautiful lives of their own. There are grandkids galore!
I met Bob, a kind, grounded, funny (and yes—amazing!) husband/life partner.
And I left my safe job to follow a deep, intuitive calling to do this work—Feng Shui work—full time.

That was over 17 years ago.

Since then, I’ve had the honor of helping hundreds of people create homes that heal, lift, and support them.
Because when your home feels good, you feel good.
And when your home becomes a form of self-care, your life starts to align in powerful, unexpected, and sometimes magical ways.
