Hello!
Happy Summer--I hope your summer is turning out to be just as amazing as you are!
Thanks for reading my weekly news, without you, who would I write to?

As you know, an important Feng Shui concept is balancing the 5 Elements:
Fire
Earth
Metal
Water
Wood
When they are all in balance, it feels wonderful, the vibes are GOOD and you never want to leave the space.
You can instantly feel when the elements are in harmony or when one or more of them have gotten out of balance.
This week let’s focus on the element of FIRE:
The Fire Element is represented by:
The red color spectrum
Things made of leather, wool, bone
Lighting and heat: sun, electric, candles, stove, fireplace
Images of people and animals, especially their faces
Sharp, pointed shapes, small geometrics
Example of Too Much Fire in a space--(feels HOT doesn’t it?):

Red geometric print wallpaper on the ceiling
Red Paint on the walls
Red geometric print on the upholstery and window treatment
Art with people’s faces
Red flowers
Red lamps
Red pillows
Books (vertical columns--wood element) and a big wooden trunk/coffee table to “feed” the fire
The above room may have won awards for its design, but from a Feng Shui perspective, it’s completely out of balance and if you were to live in this space you might feel:
Anxious
Angry
Sad
Lonely
And would be prone to Arguments and Disagreements
When FIRE is in balance in your space (as in this client’s home),

You will feel--
Joy
Happiness
Sociable
Outgoing
Warm
Lively
In this space we have dashes of Fire energy--red and orange in the sofa, art, pillows--balanced with Metal energy (pastel paint color, white accent chairs), Wood element in the flooring, Earth energy in the shape of the long horizontal sofa. A huge mirror (that you can’t see--right behind the photographer) represents Water energy. The room feels welcoming and balanced and the fire energy brings the sparkle ✨
So, now it’s YOUR turn, check out your home or office, how do the rooms feel? Do you have a balance of fire elements in your space AND how does that make you feel?
There are always “corrections” that can be made in a space to balance the elements--when I work with clients to harmonize, balance and upgrade a space, I am always aware of these foundational principles and use very specific design “remedies” in the form of paint color, fabric choices, furniture, space planning, flooring, and art to correct or cure the energy of a space that has gotten out of balance.
I will be highlighting the water element in an August post, so keep an eye out :)
And, if you would like to have a conversation about working together, contact me and we will be in touch SOON!
Lots of Love,
XOXO
