Today we’re continuing our discussion of the Feng Shui Elements-- So many people ask me about one of the most basic Feng Shui Tools--the balance of the elements--it’s SUCH an important key in creating a beautiful feeling space-- There are 5 Elements in Feng Shui:
You can instantly feel when the elements are in harmony or when one or more of them have gotten out of balance. Today let’s focus on the element of Metal--The METAL Element is represented by: ~The white, gray, or pastel color spectrum ~Things made of metal, rock or minerals ~Metal or Stone ~Circles, Ovals or Arched Shapes Example of Too Much Metal in a space:
*Anxious *Forceful *Controlling *Jealous *Guilty *Jittery When the Element of Metal is in balance in your space (as in this loft): You feel-- →Strong →Courageous →Determined →Happy with simplicity or a minimalistic approach to your life and possessions In this room: ~Water is represented by the color of the blue comforter ~Wood is represented by the flowers depicted in the mural and green color paint on the walls ~Fire is represented by the animal print in the carpeting and the lofted shape of the ceiling ~Earth is represented by the shape of the bed and the yellow colors in the room ~Metal is represented by the metal in the frame of the lamp and (what you can’t see--the metal railing protecting the loft space from the room below) So, check your own home or office, how do the rooms feel? Do you have metal elements in your space AND how do they make you feel? Notice the element of metal--does it feel like you have too much, too little, or does it feel just right (The 3 Bears Method :)? There are always “corrections” that can be made in a space to balance the elements--when I work with clients to harmonize, balance and upgrade a space, I am always aware of these foundational principles and use very specific design “remedies” in the form of paint color, fabric choices, furniture, space planning, flooring, and art to correct or cure the energy of a space that has gotten out of balance. I will be highlighting the element of Water next month, so keep an eye out :) And, if you would like to have a conversation about working together, just send me an email and I will be in touch as soon as possible.
