Welcome to the ultimate Feng Shui makeover! In this living and dining room, we took the space from cozy-but-shadowy to a light-filled, harmonious haven. Let’s dive into the “before” and “after” details, sprinkle in some Feng Shui wisdom, and show you how the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) work their magic here. Before: The Dark Ages Deep, dark furniture, a rich brown area rug, heavy curtains and sage-green walls creating a snug but heavy vibe. While the earthy tones had a grounding effect, the room was almost a little *too* grounded! Heavy colors can anchor a space, but they can also dampen the energy flow, making the room feel dense. It was begging for some light and movement to help it breathe! After: Let There Be Light! With the new design, we’ve harnessed the power of light and open space. The walls are refreshed in a soft blue/green that channels flow (hello, water element!). This cool, airy tone immediately lifts the space, making it feel open and welcoming.
Balance and Flow: Achieving Harmony with the Elements In Feng Shui, balance isn’t just about matching colors or textures; it’s about creating harmony among the five elements. Here’s how each element finds its place in this room: - Wood: Represented in the vibrant plant life (indoors and out), the beautiful wooden trim and flooring and the custom made dining table, the wood element encourages growth and vitality. - Fire: We’ve got a pop of fire with orange and rust accents (those leather chairs are stunning!), sparking excitement and warmth without overpowering. - Earth: The sandy-apricot color paint at the top of the walls and on the ceiling ground the space, keeping it stable and inviting. Earth tones help the room feel secure and balanced, anchoring all that airy energy. - Metal: The subtle metallic accents in the side tables, the light rug color and the light fixtures bring in focus and clarity, creating a crisp and organized feel. - Water: Water is about flow, and in this room, it’s expressed in the harmonious arrangement of furniture that makes the space feel fluid. Plus, the soft blue/green paint tones evoke a sense of relaxation and ease. Lighting: A key factor here! We traded the dim, moodier lighting in the dining area for a bright, stand-out fixture that casts a warm, inviting glow. That CHANDELIER—it’s not just lighting; it’s a statement piece that adds fire element energy, sparking life and energy in the room. The result? A room that feels alive and ready for connection! Art: Bringing in Personality The stunning artwork above the fireplace is more than a splash of color—it’s a focal point that anchors the space and draws the eye. This beautiful piece, commissioned by a Steamboat Springs artist, makes a statement and adds a gorgeous personal touch that enlivens the room. Creating Zones for Connection--Create the Campfire! Notice how the seating arrangement in both the living and dining areas creates zones for connection. The circular layout in the living area fosters conversation, while the open, airy dining area encourages gathering and sharing. In Feng Shui, rounded furniture and curved arrangements help soften energy flow, making the room feel inclusive and warm. The Result? An Energized, Balanced Space By lightening the color palette, adding gorgeous new furniture and decor and embracing a balanced flow of the elements, this room has transformed from a dark, cozy cave into a bright, harmonious sanctuary. It’s now a space that encourages connection, warmth, and a sense of ease—a true reflection of Feng Shui harmony. Feeling Inspired? Let’s bring that Feng Shui magic to your space! Lots of Love, XOXO Picture this: You’re surrounded by boxes, bins, and maybe a dust bunny or two. Do you ever think, “Is there a sign buried somewhere in all this clutter? A little golden nugget of wisdom hidden in the chaos?” Well, I always did too—until I cracked the Feng Shui code… It’s easy to believe that decluttering alone will open up a magical portal to everything you want. I used to think that letting go of all the old stuff would bring in something new, something big! And honestly, sometimes it really does:
Where’s the real magic here? Well, I’ll let you in on a secret: The real magic is in the choosing! Each choice to keep or release (and this applies to thoughts, relationships, and beliefs as much as it does to clutter) is an act of self-definition. Every YES to something is a declaration of “That’s me!” while every NO is an invitation to shed an outdated version of yourself. So, if you’re going through those dusty boxes, stale relationships, or expired ideas, know that you’re actually crafting a truer version of yourself each time. You’re aligning with the real you—over and over. But here’s the kicker: Decluttering? It’s never truly done. It’s an ongoing process of reconnecting and realigning with who you are right now. So, as you sift and sort through:
Feeling the urge to declutter with a little more purpose? Let’s transform those cluttered spaces into an empowered, energized reflection of YOU. Reach out for a complimentary consultation—we’d love to help you on this journey to a clutter-free, fabulous life! With love and heaps of positive energy, XOXO Hey, fellow Feng Shui enthusiasts and spooky season lovers! As Halloween approaches and the nights get cooler, it’s the perfect time to not only decorate but also clear out some of those spooky energy traps lurking in the most important area of your home: the front door and entryway! 🏠✨
In Feng Shui, the front door is called the mouth of chi—it’s where all the good vibes (and let’s be real, sometimes bad ones) flow into your home. But if your entryway is cluttered, cobwebbed, or looking like a haunted house even before the Halloween decor went up, it can block positive energy. We don’t want that, do we? So, let’s clear the clutter and invite some fresh chi into your life. Plus, I’ve got some fun Halloween twists to make this process a breeze! Step 1: Sweep Away the Cobwebs—Literally and Energetically 🧹🕸️ Yes, I know, cobwebs are totally on theme for Halloween, but you don’t want those dusty webs hanging around long after the spooky fun is over. They can represent stuck or stale energy, so grab your broom (fitting, right?) and sweep them away from the door and corners of your entryway. While you’re at it, imagine you’re not just clearing physical cobwebs but also sweeping out old, stagnant energy that’s been clinging to your home. Visualize fresh, clean energy flowing in with every sweep. If that doesn’t put you in the Halloween spirit, I don’t know what will! Step 2: Declutter the Crypt—Er, I Mean, Entryway 🏚️ Has your entryway turned into a catch-all for shoes, bags, and random haunted house props? Time to declutter! According to Feng Shui, the front door area should be clear and inviting—no scary piles of stuff to trip over. Here’s how you can get it Halloween-ready:
Your front door is the grand entrance for energy. A tired, neglected door can block all that good energy from coming in. So, give your door some love!
In Feng Shui, energy flows like water, and we want it to flow smoothly from the front door into the rest of your home. Stand at the front door and ask yourself: Is there anything blocking the energy’s path? Are there spooky obstacles like cluttered coat racks, shoe piles, or unswept leaves that might scare away the good vibes? Clear the way so energy can rush in like trick-or-treaters to a house with full-size candy bars! 🍫🍬 Bonus: Protect Your Home from Bad Vibes (and Trickster Spirits!) 👀 Want to keep out those mischievous spirits (and bad energy) this Halloween? You can use Feng Shui cures for extra protection:
So, sweep those cobwebs—and enjoy a clutter-free, energy-filled Halloween! 🎃👻 Lots of Love, XOXO |
