Feng Shui is not about tossing everything you own and living in a minimalist, white-walled cube. (Unless that’s your thing—then, go for it!) It’s also not about placing a lucky frog in the corner and waiting for money to fall from the sky. (Although, wouldn’t that be nice?) At its core, Feng Shui is the art of creating a space that truly supports your life—your health, relationships, creativity, career, and even your bank account. Your home isn’t just walls and furniture; it’s a living, breathing energy field. And when that energy (chi) flows well, life tends to flow well too.  How Feng Shui Works (Hint: It’s More Than Moving a Chair) Ever walked into a room and instantly felt ahhh… or ugh? That’s Feng Shui in action. A well-designed space feels inviting, inspiring, and peaceful. A poorly designed one? Cluttered closets, broken things, and that weird chair no one sits in because it just feels off. And here’s the thing: Feng Shui isn’t just about moving furniture around. It’s about intentional design choices—from the smallest tweak to a full-scale transformation—that create big shifts in how you feel and function in your space. Sometimes, it’s as simple as decluttering a drawer or repositioning a chair. Other times, it’s a complete reimagining—choosing the right paint colors, furniture, artwork, fabrics, mirrors, lighting, flooring—each element carefully selected to elevate the energy. Because Feng Shui isn’t just about placement—it’s about designing with purpose. And that purpose? The Power of the Five Elements A big piece of the Feng Shui puzzle comes from the five elements—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each one brings a different energy, and when they’re balanced, a space feels just right. Too much Fire (think bright reds and harsh lighting), and a room can feel overwhelming. Too much Metal (all whites and grays), and things can feel cold and impersonal. But blend them wisely—some warm wood tones, a little sparkle of metal, a splash of calming blue—and suddenly, harmony! Welcome to the Feng Shui Family! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us in Janesville on Saturday for our Feng Shui talk! It was such a joy to connect with you all—welcome to the Feng Shui family--it was fun to be back at Anne Rosa’s Interiors again!  And another big shoutout to those who participated in the clutter-clearing session on Wednesday—it was a productive and powerful time. You all rocked it! Now, let’s talk about Home Staging with Feng Shui Flair! Home staging is all about preparing your home to attract the perfect buyer and sell for the best price. I’m currently working with clients to stage a home that hits the market in a couple of weeks (fingers crossed!) and have another lined up this spring—I’ll keep you posted on how they go! When Feng Shui meets home staging, we approach it very differently. Instead of designing a space to support the current owner’s dreams, we’re now focusing on attracting the right new owner while making the process as smooth, prosperous, and stress-free as possible. Feng Shui is amazing at supporting this transition!  Feng Shui Home Staging Tips for a Fast & Abundant Sale: 1. Clear the Clutter (ALL of It!) Yes, yes, I know—decluttering is a classic staging principle. But we’re taking it to the next level! It’s not just about clearing surfaces like counters, dressers, and bookshelves (though that’s a must!). It’s about purging everything—closets, dressers, cupboards, basements, garages, and even those off-site storage units. I can hear you now: But buyers won’t see inside my junk drawer! Maybe not, but they’ll feel it. Clutter holds stagnant energy, and potential buyers will subconsciously pick up on that. If you want top dollar for your home, you gotta clear it out! Start where buyers will look—closets, vanities, kitchen cupboards—then move to the unseen spots like dressers and storage bins. Do it in phases, keep it as fun as possible, and visualize your dream buyer falling in love with your space! 2. Clean Like Oprah Is Coming Every single inch of your home should sparkle. And it should smell divine! Use non-toxic cleaners like Thieves from Young Living (we have a great contact if you want some) or a gentle citrus-based cleaner to create that fresh, welcoming scent. This step is non-negotiable. A clean home feels different, and buyers will notice immediately. Don’t underestimate the power of a deep, soul-cleansing scrub! 3. Wash. The. Windows. Just trust me on this. Clean windows = brighter rooms, better energy flow, and more ka-ching in your sale price. Do it. You’ll thank me later. 4. Fix What’s Broken A wobbly towel bar, a missing piece of trim, that one kitchen drawer that never quite closes right—these little things add up energetically. In Feng Shui, broken = clutter and this creates a dip in energy. Even if buyers don’t consciously notice a loose tile, they’ll feel that something’s off. Walk through your home with “Feng Shui goggles” and fix every little thing. This simple step keeps your home’s energy high and inviting. 5. Create a Magnetic Entryway The entrance is everything in Feng Shui—it’s where energy (and buyers!) enter your home. If you have time for a full Feng Shui consultation, that’s ideal.
