Hello Everybody!

Wow! We had a fabulous morning with the Women’s Realty group last week (Thanks for the invitation, Monika!)--welcome to all of you who have joined us, we are so happy you’re here!

We dove into this...“6 Feng Shui Secrets to Sell a House… FASTER and for more $$$!” and met So Many Incredible Women who are out there every day matching-making buyers and sellers to create the very best outcomes for everyone--an AMAZING group of go-getters!

Jacqueline was our Door Prize Winner and Monika, the new president of the group

As you know, I’m PASSIONATE about Feng Shui which includes decluttering, editing, curating the items you have in your home.

In Feng Shui, clutter blocks the flow and it is NO SMALL TASK to let go of it, or it wouldn’t be such a huge issue in our society.

Life’s a blur, we are busybusybusy--very good at accumulating and not so great at letting go, am I right?
Picture
Recently, I’ve received MANY messages from you--”What do you think of Marie Kondo and her “tidying” method”? “Have you seen Marie’s new Netflix Show?”

If you don’t know who I’m talking about...you can catch up HERE.

I read her book, “The Magic of Tidying” when it first came out and if you’re interested in her method, the book, in my opinion, is WAY better than the show-- cuz, it feels like the show comes dangerously close to Marie just telling a family to tidy :)

Here’s what I LOVE about Marie Kondo:

  • She has heightened awareness that it feels GOOD to get your home organized
  • She has heightened awareness that it’s OK to ask for help to get organized and declutter
  • She (and I) believe that creating space in your home will translate TO YOUR LIFE and beautiful things will happen as a result
  • She has her clients choose what to keep by asking, “Does it Spark Joy?” (We ask, “Do you LOVE it? Do you NEED it? Do you CHOOSE it? Does it lift your spirits?”--same thing :)
  • She has a system
  • She says throw all the papers away--HA!!!!! (I LOVE THIS!) Ok, so keep the ones with a seal, like your Passport, Birth Certificate, Marriage License, etc.

Fundamentally, I would say, we are in alignment...

Here’s where we diverge:
  • We Americans own an average of 300,000 (!) items--we work with our clients INDIVIDUALLY--guiding them to the best editing and storage solutions for their UNIQUE situations--it’s kind of hard to cookie-cutter this work.
  • Sometimes, instead of taking a category like clothes or books, we work in zones, or rooms, to save time.
  • We offer HANDS-ON SUPPORT and work SIDE BY SIDE with clients to coach them through the hard decisions, hold space for them to decide, AND make piles and bags of the discards so closing the circle at the end of the session is EASY.
  • 95% of the people we work with are NEVVVVVVERR going to fold and keep folding in that special Marie Kondo way, although, we also have some wonderful ideas and solutions to create spaces that are beautiful AND functional.
Remember, EVERYTHING MATTERS!
Every piece of junk mail, every sock without a match and every single rubber band you keep/own is also part of YOU in some way.  If an item is in your space (OR in an off-site storage locker, you know who you are…) you are in relationship with it and are energetically tied to it.
It’s time to to take control of your STUFF instead of letting your STUFF control you!
If you want assistance in your own personal decluttering adventure, please send a message and we will get back to you very soon!

Lots of Love,
XOXO

Magical Feng Shui Flow~~Dining/Kitchen Area

Hello Everybody!

Bob (lovely husband) and I and lots of our family traveled to Boulder this weekend for daughter, Morgan,’s baby shower! So Much Fun!!!! (Morgan’s the one without a child strapped to her :)

But, it’s a new week, so back to business!

We are continuing our Feng Shui tour of Nancy and Sandy’s adorable Cape Cod home with the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT FENG SHUI ENHANCEMENT we made in their home--knocking out a closet.

And, you may be saying to yourself, “How can knocking out a closet make a big difference?”

So, imagine the entry--walk into the front door (it swings right). The entry area is about 36” x 36”--teensytiny. As the door opens, it barely swings past the steps UP to the upper level directly in front of you and bangs into a closet door on the right. The living room is to your left.

The entry feels small, cramped and the flow is restricted because the door hits the closet.
Any doors that bang into each other represent “fighting energy” and can create disagreements or arguments between people who live there.
It looked like this:
Picture
Sandy had said on our initial call, “And, we’re NOT going to knock down any walls…”, so, my first suggestion was to put a mirror on the closet door, always a good “aspirin” for a Feng Shui Challenge. But I quickly followed with, “If we could do anything, I would remove the closet…”

Because, in this case, the “aspirin” of adding a mirror was NOT going to be enough--the real “cure” was to knock the closet out (I know, radical, especially in Wisconsin where coats are often a necessity).

A good discussion ensued...
  • Where to put the coats?
    • Hooks by the back door where they actually come in OR bedroom closets
  • Would we interfere with the pantry storage on the other side?
    • Nope, no problem there...
  • What about electrical, HVAC in that wall?
    • Resolved with 3” header for electrical wires
  • What about the flooring?
    • Yes, knock out entry tile flooring and continue wood floor that exists in the dining and living area

SO MUCH to consider!

But everyone could FEEL the difference it would make, even before we did a thing...

Once that closet was gone, we could all BREATHE! It was as if an obstruction in the windpipe of the house had been knocked out and the air could FINALLY flow!

So, now, instead of going through the living room, taking the back hall to the kitchen and the dead end dining area, and then having to retrace your steps to get back out, you can complete the circle and end up at the front door again! AHHHHHHHHH! Can you feel it?

Additional Feng Shui Upgrades to the Kitchen and Dining Areas:
  • Unify the flooring--knock out the kitchen tile and continue the oak flooring from the living and dining areas
  • Paint Benj. Moore “Coral Spice” in both rooms to unify the space + Relationship Enhancement!
  • Exchange large blocky table for smaller, more intimate table (It was hiding under the steps in their basement--2 leaves for entertaining)
  • Exchange hard dining chairs for soft, comfy and FUN chairs to invite you to sit, eat, enjoy, play games, connect with each other and guests
  • Exchange ho-hum chandelier with WOW! chandelier over the table and re-wire so that light hangs directly over the table
  • Exchange lighting over the island for three beautifully shaped glass pendants
  • Add glass tile backsplash to reflect light in those dark, stuck spots (chi traps) under the cupboards
  • Rehang art--especially placing their GORGEOUS maps in the travel area of the home
  • Clear the Clutter (they let go of SO MUCH--WOOHOO!!!!) and the miscellaneous furniture pieces on the perimeter of the dining room.

(Future plans MAY include painting the kitchen cupboards--stay tuned :)

The house is happy! The clients are happy! The frequency of the home is WAAAAAY higher than it was before the remodel.

If you’re considering a remodel OR want a boost in the frequency of your space AND your life, please consider sending me a message, I would LOVE to chat with you!

This week, put your Feng Shui goggles on, what’s one thing you could do (eliminating clutter definitely counts) to boost your chi of your kitchen or dining area?

Lots of Love,
XOXO

The Peacock Bathroom

Hello Everybody!

Still Holiday-ing? Our holiday season is winding down, but our Grandbaby Season is ramping up--2 more babies due in March! (That makes 6, if you’re keeping track at home…) We’re the luckiest :)

I’m having such FUN sharing Before and After Stories of Nancy and Sandy’s adorable Feng Shui-ed home. If you haven’t caught the last couple of weeks...

Bedroom/Bathroom Combo and Living Room Love

Today, I want to share what eventually became EVERYONE’S favorite room of the house--The Peacock Bathroom!

The Bathroom BEFORE:

Here’s the story…

This bathroom is in the Fame/Reputation area of this couple’s home. It relates to:

“How The World Sees/Experiences You”

So, looking at the BEFORE picture, what are you seeing? How are you feeling?

If you met Nancy and Sandy, you would know right away that the “before” bathroom definitely did not match their energy!

To call in the energy of Fame and Reputation and give them a BIG BOOST, I recommended the gorgeous Coral Peacock wallpaper, new tile, vanity and upgraded fixtures.

{The peacock spirit animal is the epitome of beauty. This graceful power animal offers lessons about self-love, honor, integrity and the importance of facing life’s challenges as well as the unknown with courage and confidence. When the peacock struts gracefully into your life you may be entering a time of rebirth.}

Nancy said something like, “No WAY in Hell!”, shook her head and walked away…

It took awhile to let the idea of this particular upgrade sink in and for her to have faith in the Feng Shui!

(I always say I wouldn’t be doing my job, if my clients didn’t have some sort of reaction to the s-t-r-e-t-c-h of energy.)

But now, this is EVERYONE’S favorite room! A STUNNING space that stands as a symbol to the personal growth that’s taking place.

Annnnnd, Sandy’s speaking gigs have taken a giant leap plus she’s moving to a new, bigger office space. Nancy’s photography skills are soon to become more than a hobby and well, water consumption is probably up, because who wouldn’t want an excuse to use the bathroom????

I can’t resist sharing the adjoining bedroom as well--

The Feng Shui Upgrades:
  • A solid curvy, tufted headboard in a gorgeous French Burgundy linen
  • Matching mirrored nightstands for some glimmer in this small-sized bedroom
  • Matching crystal lamps
  • Benjamin Moore, Coral Essence, on the headboard wall AND CEILING to extend out the power of the headboard
  • A soft Pale Celery color on the remaining walls to open up the rest of the room
  • Simple, cellular shades with top down, bottom up feature to give light and privacy

This bedroom NOW is a lovely place to rejuvenate and relax--Ahhhhhhh! Cozy, soft and sooooo romantic!

If you are feeling ready for an upgrade of your own, reply to this email, I would love to chat with you about your project.

Lots of Love,
XOXO

Hello Everybody!

Wishing you all a DELIGHTFUL 2019! (That’s my ‘word’ this year...watch for it :)

We are cooking up some exciting things for you in 2019--can’t wait to share...

Last Saturday night we had a BIG Feng Shui Party at Amy’s beautiful, recently Feng Shuied home. To celebrate, she threw a huge bash with food, friends and music--woohoo!

I was honored to give the Feng Shui tour and Amy shared all the good things happening in her life as a result of the upgrades…

She’s an AMAZING person with a Zest for life, and her friends (and sister and cousin) are loads of fun, too!

We will be highlight Amy’s home in the newsletter SOON!
So, welcome(!) to those of you who are new this week, we are so happy you’re here.
Today, we continue the tour of Nancy and Sandy’s Feng Shui Adventure with a peek at  their Living Room...

If you missed the start of the tour last time--you can catch up HERE.

When Nancy and Sandy first called for a Feng Shui Upgrade, about a year ago, their living room looked like this:

And, once all the Feng Shui enhancements were in place, their living room looked like this...

AFTER:

Just notice--When you saw the pictures, did you have an emotional reaction, a physical reaction? Did your energy go up or down? Building this awareness will assist you in looking at your own space and help you to learn to tune the energy for yourself.

The Feng Shui Challenges of this Living Room:
  • This living room is small-ish (totally in keeping with the house size and Cape Cod Design)
  • Some of the furniture was hard and sharp (wood and corners on armchair and coffee table)
  • The art was not being displayed optimally
  • The wall paint color was beige/earthy and kept the chi moving very s-l-o-w-l-y
  • The rug’s smaller size diminished the room
  • The bulky quilted window treatments and ruched valances were holding stagnant chi

The Feng Shui Enhancements:
  • A Teal Velvet Sofa(!!!!)
  • Paint colors that enhance the flow of the living room--the yellow specifically chosen for HEALTH
  • Curvy, comfy chairs--everything soft and friendly
  • Two ottomans that move wherever they are needed (flexibility is KEY for a small room)
  • A balance of the colors all around the room
  • An uptick in FUN--because these two are FUN!
  • Simple, clean, modern cellular shades
  • Art gathered and placed specifically to raise the energy of the room
  • A simple, very plush, GORGEOUS grey rug, custom cut to fit the room
  • Energy UPUPUP to give their lives the support they wanted

The result is a room that INVITES YOU IN!

The Feng Shui also promotes connection and health and encourages you to sit awhile and enjoy--your wife, your friends, the conversation, the book, the project or petting the cat :)

Already their lives are feeling better, and their newly upgraded house is supporting them--Nancy’s pursuing her photography interests, Sandy’s speaking opportunities have taken a gigantic leap and Sandy and I will be working on her new office space this year!

Rumor has it that their Solstice party was OFF THE HOOK this year--Nancy posting on Instagram, The 2018 Solstice Party “was the best one yet. Our new space felt amazing!”

If remodeling, redesigning or personal growth are part of your plan for 2019, reply to this email, I would LOVE to talk with you!

Lots of Love,
XOXO
