6 Tips to Upgrade Your Guest Room Chi

Hello Beautiful!

We are having a WOW(!) week here at Jane Antonovich Designs: clients finishing up big projects, we’re having some beautiful photographs taken (SO excited to share the results with you) and some new projects are unfolding!

One thing that’s been coming up with our clients recently is how to make a beautiful, energetically aligned space for guests. Whether it’s for an occasion like a wedding, or the upcoming holidays, or an occasional visit from family…a little TLC and thoughtful planning can make a huge difference in a guest room space.

6 Steps to Raise the Energy of Your Guest Room:

  1. Clear the Clutter--You knew I was going to say that, right? Set aside some time to clear out under the bed, nightstand drawers, make some space in the closet. Yes, it matters.
  2. Linens--Flannel or microfiber sheets feel SO COZY this time of year if you’re in cold climates. At the very least, give the guest sheets a wash. If they’ve been on the bed and covered up, unused, for any amount of time, they will feel stagnant. Maybe add a few drops of Lavender Oil on a damp washcloth when you throw them in the dryer--AHHHHHHH!
  3. Lights--Give your guests a reading light near the bed so they won’t have to stumble around to control the lights. And while we’re on the subject of electrical power...make sure there’s an outlet available for recharging your guests’ electronic devices (We have recently found table lamps with USB ports in the base--fancy!). A card with your wifi code on the nightstand is also a nice touch.
  4. A Place for Suitcases--Consider a low bench, chair or folding stand for suitcases--classier than putting everything on the floor.
  5. Atmosphere--Imagine your favorite hotel room experience, dark and cool. Consider light-blocking blinds or curtains and perhaps a fan for white noise + air circulation.
  6. Beauty--Add a small beautiful dish on the nightstand for jewelry, a single flower in a vase, small plant or a teensy bit of good, dark chocolate for some sweetness :)

If you are the air mattress-in-the-office-(or the sofa bed)-type of host, you can STILL use the ideas above to make a cozy, comfortable space for your guests. Yes, you can.

***Caution: If the Feng Shui in your home (and the guest room in particular) is TOO GOOD, your guests will not want to leave :)

For fun, “test” out your guest room by spending a night there to see how it feels and adjust accordingly!

Email me to let me know how your Guest Room VIBES are feeling--I would love to hear from you.

And, if you would like to really make HUGE SHIFT in your space (and your life), email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible

Lots of Love,
XOXO
